We’re finding now with our newswire that, on a much smaller scale, we can empathize with the struggle of nonpolitical public figures on when to enter the political arena.

And so as much as we’d love to share more silly posts about bookish puns and literary trivia, we will first share an open letter signed by nearly eighty authors condemning the detention of migrant children separated from their families.

Jhumpa Lahiri, Margaret Atwood, and many others express concern that while the physical conditions of the Tornillo, Texas, tent city seem humane, the psychological conditions are decidedly not.
