We’re glad for the people younger than us who are accomplishing great things. We really are.

But ... that calendar keeps flipping in a direction where we’re taking more hope from the first-time accomplishments of those older than us.

So thank you, Literary Hub, for compiling this list of debut works by female authors older than forty.

With the big three-oh long in the rearview mirror, we find great comfort in the company we could be keeping (if we ever picked up the proverbial pencil again, that is).
