Yes, Veterans Day was officially yesterday, but we’ll keep in the spirit and celebrate it today, too.
A few years back, NPR interviewed several veterans of our current, ongoing wars who wrote about their military experiences.
The one message they all shared? Each individual’s work is not intended to speak for another’s experience.
It’s a necessary point to bring up, with fewer and fewer families including military veterans and thus more and more tendencies to look at prominent veterans as being the voice of the armed forces.
