Go ahead and put in that vacation request for September 10, 2019.

That’s when the sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale will be published.

Margaret Atwood confirmed today that she’s writing a follow-up to her classic dystopian novel.

The Testaments will be set fifteen years after Offred’s final scene in the original tale, according to the Guardian.

It is not connected to the hit Hulu series starring Elizabeth Moss, which has extended Atwood’s novel.

In her statement, Atwood said: “Dear Readers, everything you’ve ever asked me about Gilead and its inner workings is the inspiration for this book. Well, almost everything! The other inspiration is the world we’ve been living in.”
