What are the kids reading these days?
If they’re freshmen in college, the National Association of Scholars can tell you ... at least what they were assigned to read, that is.
NPR shared some of the findings from this year’s NAS survey, which covered 481 college and universities.
The overarching theme? Newer books are edging out classics in many college common reading programs: Two-thirds of the assigned readings were published after 2011.
