Authors invited or allowed to expand on someone else’s beloved fiction must ride quite the emotional roller-coaster.

Ben Schott found that journey exhilarating, fortunately. He told Weekend Edition’s Lulu Garcia Navarro that Jeeves and Bertie Wooster are such well-rounded characters that he felt true freedom in writing Jeeves and the King of Clubs.

In fact, the experience was so much fun that he even finished the book early.
