The website Blinkist promises to provide its users with “the key takeaways” of more than 2,500 nonfiction books so you can “fit reading into your life.”

The Guardian set out to test this guarantee, and you can probably guess the results — but if you’re still curious or vulnerable to clickbait (guilty as charged), check out what Sian Cain thought of five “blinks” she tried here.
