The staffers at Fussy, all former journalists, have often rolled their eyes a bit at how Hollywood portrays most newsrooms. (Most, not all.)

So we particularly enjoyed a piece by Sloane Crosley, an essayist and former book publicist, on how movies mess up the publishing industry.

Crosley acknowledges, as should Fussy, that this doesn’t make our past careers special — plenty of jobs find themselves overdramatized for storytelling’s sake.

But still ... can’t they do a bit of research?

You can read Crosley’s piece and see some egregious missteps in the New York Times.
