Congratulations are in order for five writers who received Costa Book Awards today!

Stuart Turton won the first-novel prize for The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle.

Sally Rooney became the youngest ever writer to receive the best-novel award for Normal People

Bart van Es took the biography honor for The Cut Out Girl.

J.O. Morgan won the poetry prize for Assurances.

And Hilary McKay received the children’s book award for The Skylarks’ War.
