The three finalists for the Costa Short Story Awards have been announced — and their work is free for you to enjoy.
Head to the award website to read or listen to audio versions of “Breathing Water,” by Caroline Ward Vine; “Red,” by Amanda Huggins; and “Scrimshaw,” by Sophie Wellstood.
The winner will be announced January 29.
The Bookseller also notes that this is the first time in the award’s (admittedly short) history that all three finalists have been women.
