Back in 2013, when Amazon opened a pop-up store, we all expected it and the ones that followed to be temporary.

Many lasted longer than their names indicated, but The Digital Reader learned yesterday that their runs are done.

Amazon will be closing all eighty-seven of its pop-up stores (none of which we were ever near, so we won’t miss them).

Instead, it will be focusing on other efforts, including Amazon Books.

You can read more of what the company told the Digital Reader on his blog.
