Springing forward has done a real number on our energy levels this morning, and not for the better.
So we’re not just sharing Monday motivation posts because the alliteration is fun — it’s because we could use it!
Back in January, the future of San Diego’s Book Catapult looked pretty dire, as described by the San Diego Union-Tribune.
One co-owner, Seth Marko, was undergoing open-heart surgery; the other co-owner — his wife — was taking care of him.
And the shop’s only full-time employee had caught avian flu.
What should’ve been a recipe for disaster, though, was an opportunity for bookworms to unite for a greater cause.
Employees of other bookstores volunteered to keep Book Catapult running. Emphasis on volunteered — they weren’t getting paid for it.
