Love them or loathe them, the idea of high heels evoke some sort of emotion in most women, and just about everyone has some opinion of them — they’re more than just a shoe.

Summer Brennan has, in fact, written a whole book about heels and what they represent, what image they project, and what purpose they serve.

Brennan, who used to work for the United Nations, talked about High Heel on All Things Considered with Mary Louise Kelly.
