So ... crime does sort of pay?
Dan Mallory’s The Woman in the Window — published under the name A.J. Finn — has been nominated for the British Book Awards.
That comes despite his confession earlier this year that he made up portions of his biography, including that he was a brain cancer survivor.
We’ll find out whether Mallory receives the crime and thriller book of the year honors on May 13; other notable nominees include:
-
The Tattooist of Auschwitz, by Heather Morris (debut book of the year).
-
Children of Blood and Bone, by Tomi Adeyemi (children’s fiction book of the year).
-
Transcription, by Kate Atkinson (fiction book of the year).
-
Milkman, by Anna Burns (fiction book of the year).
-
Becoming, by Michelle Obama (nonfiction narrative book of the year).
-
Fire and Fury, by Michael Wolff (nonfiction narrative book of the year).
Here are all of the British Book Awards shortlists.
