Sometimes, picking a book out from the library is hard enough in and of itself.

Now try picking out a book for the library.

The New York Public Library has been asked a million times, at least, how librarians choose which books to include.

So librarians explained to the New York Times how they decide what hits the shelves — and why a book might be rejected.
