The final novel from thriller author Philip Kerr, who died last year, will hit shelves next week.
And while it’s the last book, it’s the first story, so to speak, of beloved cop/private investigator Bernie Gunther.
Metropolis plunks Gunther into Berlin in 1928, as he’s just joined the city’s Murder Commission.
The Guardian calls the April 9 release “a bittersweet ending to a superb series,” while the New York Times says it feels “imperative as well as poignant.”
