When we shared a comic of things used as bookmarks that weren’t originally intended for that purpose, you shared tons of your favorite replacements.
One thing you didn’t mention, though? A lottery ticket whose numbers you never checked ... until days before its winnings expired.
(And that’s an argument in favor of always finishing books, we guess!)
A Canadian couple had purchased the ticket on April 5, 2018, then tucked it into a book and forgot about it.
Fortunately, just a few days before their time ran out, they found the million-dollar ticket ($748,000 in U.S. currency) and claimed their prize.
The BBC has more on this wild story.
