We imagine reader reaction to the Man Booker International Prize shortlist could be a number of emotions — indifference, mild interest, affront, or anticipation among them.

No need to read on if the former two were yours, but if you were miffed at a favorite book’s exclusion or if your appetite was whetted for translated literature, here’s something for you.
