Today we’re interviewing author Meredith Potts, who loves writing humorous mysteries featuring sassy sleuths.

SADYE: How did you come to see yourself as a writer, and what inspired you to seek publication?

MEREDITH: I love telling stories. But for the longest time, I wasn’t sure that anyone wanted to read them.

With self-publishing, I have been able to find a wonderful group of readers who enjoy my work.

It is such a blessing to be able to do this for a living.

SADYE: Which of your characters would you most and least like to trade places with?

MEREDITH: Honestly, I wouldn’t want to trade places with any of my characters.

Even though my sleuths are all very intelligent, kind, and caring people, they are constantly solving murders.

I would not deal with those circumstances as well as they do.

SADYE: What has been the most surprising part of your writing career?

MEREDITH: Hearing from my readers is by far the most rewarding part of the job.

I have gotten some very touching emails from fans over the years.

SADYE: What message or theme would you like readers to take away from your work?

MEREDITH: That no matter how dark things can get sometimes, it is important to never give up hope.

SADYE: What experience in your past or general aspect of your life has most affected your writing?

MEREDITH: I try to put a lot of myself into my characters.

Most of them have my penchant for sweets, and they all have my sense of humor.
