The final installment of a popular book series set in long-ago times has a release date.
The Mirror and the Light, the third novel in Hilary Mantel’s trilogy about Thomas Cromwell, will be published in March 2020, HarperCollins announced today.
After eight years of waiting, fans of the series will follow Cromwell from Anne Boleyn’s execution to his own death at the hands of the same king who condemned her.
Mantel told the Guardian that when she began the series in 2005, she had no idea how intense and deep the material would be, nor that it would result in a trilogy.
“This book has been the greatest challenge of my writing life, and the most rewarding,” she said. “I hope and trust my readers will find it has been worth the wait.”
