The Millions shared a piece headlined “Was Jordan Peele’s Us Inspired by an Edgar Allan Poe Story?,” but the title doesn’t do the essay justice.
Sure, it introduces the casual Poe reader to one of his lesser-known tales.
The thrust of the piece, though, is the deeper meaning that writer Catherine Baab-Muguira finds in both Poe’s story “William Wilson” and Us.
So take a (quick) trip down memory lane and pretend you’re in high school English all over again as Baab-Muguira analyzes these tales.
