Another one of Terry Pratchett’s books is coming to a screen — this time, the big one, and in animation.
Ulysses Filmproduktion and Cantilever Media have announced the development of The Amazing Maurice, based on Pratchett’s 28th Discworld novel, The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents, according to The Bookseller.
The 2001 book, which parodied the folk-tale genre, was inspired by the Pied Piper of Hamelin and went on to win the Carnegie Medal.
Joining the film production will be screenwriter Terry Rossio, whose previous work includes Shrek, Aladdin, and Pirates of the Caribbean, and character designer Carter Goodrich, who worked on Ratatouille and Brave.
