The odds are in Hunger Games fans' favor: Suzanne Collins is writing a prequel to her bestselling YA dystopian trilogy.

The untitled novel will be released May 19, 2020, and begin sixty-four years before The Hunger Games, according to The Associated Press.

Here’s how Collins describes the setting of this upcoming novel: “The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days — as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet — provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”
