Fans of UK politician Boris Johnson got a good-news-bad-news delivery today.
The good news, for his supporters, is that he’s set to become his country’s next prime minister on Wednesday.
That, however, means he won’t be finishing his book Shakespeare: The Riddle of Genius anytime soon.
Publisher Hodder & Stoughton had said this spring that the book would come out in April 2020, though both it and Johnson himself acknowledged the book isn’t even completed yet.
The Bookseller reported today that publication of Shakespeare is now on hold “for the foreseeable future.”
No need to pity Hodder & Stoughton, though — it also announced today that it has acquired celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s next book.
Quick & Delicious, featuring one hundred recipes ready in a half-hour or less, will come out in hardback on October 17.
