The 2018 Booker Prize-winning book may still be in talks about a movie adaptation, but the 2017 winner has moved past talks and into deals.
Village Roadshow Pictures has optioned A Horse Walks Into a Bar by David Grossman for film, according to the Hollywood Reporter, and will produce it with Veritas Entertainment Group.
Those are the only names attached to the project so far.
A Horse Walks Into a Bar takes place over the course of just one evening with a standup comedian, and it isn’t the only source of Grossman’s acclaim.
Grossman, an Israeli writer, has won several international awards and almost all of his country’s literary prizes, most recently the 2018 Israel Prize, according to the Jerusalem Post.
