Many of you have probably picked up a Toni Morrison book this past week, whether it’s your first time or the most recent of many times reading her.
And you’re in good company — her 1987 novel Beloved (a Pulitzer Prize winner) has made its debut on the Amazon sales charts.
The story of Sethe, an escaped slave haunted by the memory of her captivity and her lost baby, is currently in fourth place for the Most Sold: Fiction category.
Nielsen BookScan reports that it’s a 1,501% increase in volume from the previous week.
Morrison died August 5 at age eighty-eight.
