Today we celebrate “Caturday” with an interview with Hannah Shaw, also known as the Kitten Lady.

Shaw earned that nickname the hard way: by rescuing and saving hundreds of neonatal kittens.

That means round-the-clock feeding, “grooming” with a toothbrush, gentle strokes with a baby wipe to stimulate their digestive systems ... and sometimes even more dramatic measures.

Shaw has plenty more tales to share from these experiences and, of course, advice for the rest of us.

It’s all in her new book, Tiny but Mighty, which she discussed recently on NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross.

You can listen to the whole segment below or read the article version (where, yes, there are kitten pictures) and transcript.
