4,500 teachers receive grants from James Patterson

Grants to buy classroom books have gone out to 4,500 teachers across the United States, thanks to James Patterson.

The majority of these teachers received $250 cash and 250 Scholastic Book Clubs Bonus Points, but a lucky 500 received $500 cash and 500 bonus points.

The prolific and bestselling author has donated millions of dollars to teachers, librarians and independent bookstores, according to the Associated Press.
