Merriam-Webster added over 530 words to its dictionary this past week.

As usual, some were familiar to us — vacay, escape room, deep state, inclusive — while others ... well ... we didn’t even know there was a need for the word fatberg.

And as usual, the additions shed some light into the cultural and political developments of the past few years.
