Ann Patchett’s latest novel, The Dutch House, has been warmly received by critics and readers alike.

So it’s not surprising to see that she was the most recent guest on the Guardian’s book podcast, in which she discusses both her life as a writer and as an indie bookseller.

Nor was it a surprise to see (since we missed it while traveling) that The Dutch House was chosen as former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager’s book club pick for October.

Patchett’s interview is up on the Guardian’s website, and Hager’s announcement is available as video and text on the TODAY show’s site.
