A beloved author makes an appearance on a new episode of the podcast This Is Criminal.
Harper Lee, years after the success of To Kill A Mockingbird, was intrigued by the idea of returning to true crime (which she’d dabbled in while helping Truman Capote research what became In Cold Blood).
The case that grabbed her attention? That of Robert Burns, who fatally shot another man at a funeral and admitted to the crime.
This Is Criminal tells the story of Burns and his case, which served as the basis for a book Lee never published.
