Sure, many of us have lofty goals about health and relationships and personal growth, but what we’re really interested in hearing about are your bookish resolutions!
Our Facebook fans have made the following resolutions, so if you haven’t set any for yourself, perhaps take a page from their books (pun intended).
And if you’re not feeling remotely inspired, feel free to browse literary quotes for the new year on both Bustle and Huffington Post.
Carla B.: Just last night I mapped out my reading list for 2020, exclusively from the unread novels already on my shelves.
Miriam B.: I will read at least one book for every year of my life. Have only 70 books to read next year!
Denise C.: I want to alternate reading books written in English and French (I don’t read French often enough).
Éirinn C.: Hit my reading goal of 52 books. Plus complete a few challenges.
Anne H.: Yes, to make the time to read more books — lots of them! Have promised myself that I will include some fiction in my reading list instead of 100% nonfiction, I need to boost my imagination!
Lilian C.: To read more than 2019!
Kimmi D.: I mostly read fiction, and I’ve challenged myself to pick up at least one book that will allow me to learn something each time I go to the library.
Stephanie L.: I will do the Popsugar Reading Challenge and keep my twist — as many Black, Brown and First Nation authors I can find. The Free Black Woman's Library Challenge and keep my 150 book reading goal inGood Reads.
Carol N.: Read at least one book a week! (Not just small books, but 1,000+ page books).
Andrew S.: 30,000 pages.
Loretta T.: Finish writing the novel I'm working on and start writing the next one. So it looks like I'll be spending all of 2020 in 1837 New Mexico.
Aymee V.: Not yet but I should. Maybe catch up on series I started and later added more titles plus any recommended titles that come up. I have enjoyed romances and mysteries for many years and will continue to read them.
Merilyn W.: Just try to read more. Explore new authors and enjoy the time with a book in my hands.
