The 2019 National Book Critics Circle Award winners were revealed last night at a ceremony in New York City.
The awards honor "the finest books published in English in six categories," which for this year are:

Fiction: Everything Inside, by Edwidge Danticat.

Nonfiction: Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland, by Patrick Radden Keefe.

Autobiography: Know My Name: A Memoir, by Chanel Miller.

Biography: The Queen: The Forgotten Life Behind an American Myth, by Josh Levin.

Poetry: Magical Negro, by Morgan Parker.

Criticism: Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments: Intimate Histories of Social Upheaval, by Saidiya Hartman.
