Eight authors just received the pleasantly shocking news of a lifetime.
The 2020 Windham Campbell Prize, which divides $1.32 million among its winners, was announced yesterday.
And unlike other literary prizes, the recipients have no idea they’re under consideration until they’re told that they’ve won.
Congratulations to the following writers!
-
Nonfiction: Maria Tumarkin and Anne Boyer
-
Drama: Aleshea Harris and Julia Cho
-
Fiction: Yiyun Li and Namwali Serpell
-
Poetry: Bhanu Kapil and Jonah Mixon-Webster
