You probably don’t need to be told that your local library is moving heaven and earth to ensure that those sheltering in place have sufficient entertainment.

That said, NPR has issued a friendly reminder that with or without a library card — which, by the way, you can now register for online in many places — you have access to online book clubs, virtual story hours, homework assistance and more.

One library for which you don’t need a card? The Library of Congress, which reminded the world last week of its growing collection of open-access digital books.
