Our Australian fans who have small kids won’t be surprised by this news at all.
But the rest of us may raise our eyebrows to learn that a children’s book has won the Australia Book of the Year award.
Bluey: The Beach has become the first children’s book to take that honor.
Books in the series about a dog — inspired by a children’s TV show — were second, third, and fourth on a list of the year’s bestselling books in 2019, according to the New Publishing Standard.
