Need a comfort read but struggling to focus your eyes on the page?
We have great news: Celebrities are teaming up to read Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach in a YouTube series!
Oscar-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit) is narrating the book, with a star-studded supporting cast adding their voices.
Those participating include Chris and Liam Hemsworth, Ryan Reynolds, Meryl Streep, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mindy Kaling, Cate Blanchett, and Lupita Nyong’o.
Episodes, which have already started coming out, will drop every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on the Roald Dahl YouTube channel.
The project is raising money for the nonprofit Partners in Health, which is fighting COVID-19 in the world’s most vulnerable areas.
The Guardian reports that the Roald Dahl Story Company will match donations up to $1 million.
You can read more about the project in the Guardian and watch the first episode below (the rest are available on the Roald Dahl YouTube channel).
