Need a break from reading but want to keep your entertainment literary?

We have a few suggestions.

Poetry In America celebrated the 200th anniversary of Walt Whitman’s birth with, among other things, a Whitman-themed crossword puzzle.

Fans of other writers and poets have similar opportunities, thanks to the online game Dear Reader, which prompts you to reassemble passages from literary works.

(Psst: The Digital Reader shared an infographic of the first lines of classic novels, in case you want to create a cheat sheet or refresh your memory of possible content!)

Prefer offline entertainment? Play detective with Dear Holmes, a mystery experience that will request your help solving a case and send you clues via snail mail.

These latter games are described in more detail in the New York Times.
