Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan — author of Crazy Rich Asians and its two sequels — hits shelves tomorrow.
Fans of his previous work will be reassured to know that the new book’s characters remain in the lap of luxury.
But while Kwan describes Sex and Vanity as “a light summer romp” in an NPR interview, readers shouldn’t assume it’s shallow.
The book pays homage to A Room With A View, and it doesn’t shy away from issues of race and racism.
You can read highlights from or the complete interview with Kwan on NPR’s website, or listen to his conversation with Lulu Garcia-Navarro below.
