HBO to adapt "The Vanishing Half" into a limited series

According to Deadline sources, HBO has won a bidding auction to develop The Vanishing Half into a limited series.

Brit Bennett, the novel's author, will be the executive producer of the adaptation, which cost the network low seven figures.

The Vanishing Half tells the divergent stories of twin sisters Desiree and Stella, separated as young women when Stella disappears to live as a white woman while Desiree returns to their Black-only hometown.

The novel has quickly become a bestseller and was chosen as the Good Morning America Book Club Pick, Barnes & Noble June Book Club Pick, and Amazon Best Book of June.
