Sad news in the literary world: author Brad Watson died this week at the age of sixty-four.
Watson’s novel The Heaven of Mercury was a finalist for the National Book Award; his novel Miss Jane was longlisted for the same award; and his short story collection Aliens in the Prime of Their Lives was nominated for a PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction.
You can read more about Watson’s legacy not just as a writer, but also as a mentor, in the Laramie (Wyoming) Boomerang.
