It’s release day eve for author Stephenie Meyer, whose Midnight Sun will tell her bestselling Twilight saga from a different point of view.
Meyer initially began drafting Edward’s version of the vampire-meets-mortal love story in 2008, but put her effort on hold after chapters leaked online.
Suffice it to say that the weight hasn’t cooled fans’ ardor; the New York Times says that Meyer’s website crashed when she announced Midnight Sun’s publication date of August 4.
The author describes that eagerness as “really flattering but also nerve-racking.”
For more of what to expect from Midnight Sun — and what not to expect from Meyer — check out an edited version of a recent interview she did with the New York Times.
