If you’ve ever uttered the line "I love you right up to the moon — and back,” then we have some especially sad news.
The author of that sentence, Sam McBratney, has died.
McBratney was seventy-seven years old when he died September 18.
He is best known for the 1994 children’s book Guess How Much I Love You, a companion to which (Will You Be My Friend?) comes out September 29.
You can learn more about McBratney, the author of more than fifty other books, in NPR’s obituary.
