At this point, we’re not sure what grows faster: our to-be-read pile or Hollywood’s to-be-adapted pile.

In Barry Jenkins’s defense, his adaptation of Colson Whitehead’s The Underground Railroad has been public knowledge for almost three years, so we shouldn’t complain about the never-ending flow of TV and movie versions.

Jenkins, an Oscar-winning filmmaker, shared a teaser for the show he’s adapting from Whitehead’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.
