Soccer star Megan Rapinoe’s memoir, One Life, came out yesterday.

In the leadup to its release, she made the media rounds, of course, including an appearance on NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross.

Among the topics they discussed: equal pay, of course, and also what the American flag means to her.

You can read an edited version of the conversation or a full transcript on NPR’s website, and you can also listen to the women’s conversation below.

The New York Times also previewed Rapinoe's memoir — promising or warning readers, depending on your expectations, that you won’t find the typical adages about hard work guaranteeing success — but includes a look at her journey to creating (with a ghostwriter’s help) her memoir.

And finally, Rapinoe's publisher has shared an excerpt from One Life on the book's official website.
