Chris Stedman is another author who began a book before the COVID-19 pandemic and found it becoming eerily timely once the release date hit.
A few years ago, he experienced both a bad breakup and an embarrassing health issue that prompted him to stay out of the public eye.
This prompted him to reflect on the differences between online and in-person interaction and whether one should be considered more “real” than the other.
Stedman’s musings eventually became IRL: Finding Realness, Meaning, and Belonging in Our Digital Lives, which he talked about with Morning Edition’s Noel King.
