The latest victim of 2020: the Bad Sex in Fiction Award.
You might think that humor is exactly what we need this year, but the Literary Review, which hands out this not-so-desirable award each year, took a different view.
Specifically, it said judges decided that “the public had been subjected to too many bad things this year to justify exposing it to bad sex as well.”
Take heart, though: the statement also sternly warned authors that they shouldn’t take this as “license to write bad sex.”
