We'll just blame the general 2020 vibe for how we managed to miss Barnes & Noble's Book of the Year for 2020.
World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments by Aimee Nezhukumatathil received the honor, the selection process for which starts with booksellers' nominations of titles they were “most proud to be selling.”
World of Wonders is a memoir told via various natural experiences, and judges praised its "tender illustrations and meditations on nature."
