Celebrity book clubs have released their picks for January 2021.
Reese Witherspoon selected Outlawed, by Anna North.
The novel takes place in the late 1800s and stars Ada, a young woman who — fearing repercussions for her inability to conceive — runs away from her husband to join a notorious outlaw gang.
"This feminist Western will keep you on the edge of your seat on a high stakes ride through the old West," Witherspoon wrote in announcing her Hello Sunshine book club selection.
Jenna Bush Hager picked Black Buck, by Mateo Askaripour.
The novel follows the journey of Darren, who's plucked from a job as a Starbucks manager by the CEO of a hot new startup company and becomes its only Black salesman — a move that drastically changes his life.
Hager said, in announcing her Read With Jenna pick, that it was "a title I knew our book club readers needed to read as we begin this new year with a fresh start."
Good Morning America chose The Push, by Ashley Audrain.
The novel is the story of Blythe, a woman who's determined to provide her daughter with the safe, loving upbringing that Blythe herself never had, only to discover just how unusual — and possibly disturbing — her own daughter seems to be.
You can read an excerpt of The Push in GMA's announcement of its choice.
