How much more 2020 could 2021 get?
Fanfiction readers can provide an answer to that, unfortunately: a systemwide outage of your favorite pandemic activity.
VICE reports that Archive of our Own, an award-winning fanfiction website, crashed during the first weekend of the year.
The outage wasn’t tied to any particular upload or release; AO3 has simply seen a steady increase in traffic since COVID-19 hit, and VICE theorizes that many readers were eager to kick back after the holidays and enjoy reading material.
